I’m interested in looking into sources to ask for advice about what to do after high school and college. I, unfortunately, find my high school counselors a particular place that I would NOT look to for help. They always seem to rush to try and accommodate as many students as possible, and I don’t feel it’s adequate time to discuss my future. Are there any places that specialize in helping students find courses of study and careers outside of high school counselors?

Of all subjects taught in grade school, math seems to be one of the ones responsible for the most worries among students. Often this isn’t so much concerned with their ability to understand the problems, but rather than a lack of belief they can actually achieve a good grade in this subject. They are so concerned about not being able to understand that they block their own ability, and getting over this math anxiety can be all that’s needed for them to improve their grades.
Often this nervousness about math comes from a bad experience quite early on their education. This may have been a failure on a relatively simple test, an inability to understand a basic math principle or a bad grade. That one incident will have been enough to destroy their self-belief that they are smart enough to study math and get a decent grade. As with most things, self-belief is one of the hardest things to build up, one of the easiest things to destroy, and yet it has an ability to control the outcome of our efforts. They don’t believe they can do math and so they can’t.
The good news about these math worries is that it can take a very simple success experience in the subject in order to restore confidence in the subject. Math is about understanding certain analysis techniques and once these are mastered they are easy to implement. Unlike many courses that have subjective answers to tests and assignments, math is one of the school subjects where answers are likely to be right or wrong – no middle ground. Get the right answer and show how you got there, and you’re likely to get a high grade.
For the first few classes work on building confidence in your subject area. Keep instructions simple and make sure all of the students understand the principles you are teaching. Even if it feels that you are going too slowly for the age group, you can always make this time up later in the year, for now the important thing is to instill each of your students with that self belief that they are able to succeed in math, it will allow them to pursue the rest of the year with confidence.
Giving your students plenty of practice with the simpler exercises of each math principle before moving onto to more complex ones will also allow them to experience the success of getting the right answer and so they’ll be more confident to go onto the more difficult ones.
Taking time with those who find the principles more difficult in the opening weeks of your class will pay off in the long run as you’ll see a higher percentage of students who are getting high grades in your subject. They’ll also take less time in additional coaching/questions later in the year if you do the preparatory work of self-confidence in math building now.

An international student is a student that holds a foreign (non-U.S.) passport. There are many reasons why boarding school is a popular option for international students around the world.
Many international students would like to attend college or university in the United States, but find it difficult to do so. They may lack the proper guidance when choosing between the thousands of colleges in the United States. Their English skills may also be a problem when applying to an American university. Boarding school helps overseas students:
Improve their English proficiency.
Help them learn about and gain acceptance to appropriate U.S. universities.
Adjust to a new culture by providing a smaller, structured environment designed to support
non-native English speakers.
English Immersion & ESL (English as a Second Language) Courses
It can be difficult to learn English if it is not spoken regularly. In boarding school, international students attend class, play sports, and live with English-speaking students. This creates a helpful environment for learning English. This gives them the chance to make friends and communicate in English on a regular basis.
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes offered in boarding schools also help international students learn English more quickly. These classes are generally very small. ESL courses are designed to improve an overseas student’s speaking, reading and writing ability. Boarding schools provide international students an excellent opportunity to improve their English skills.
College Preparation
Boarding schools offer international students access to well-trained college counselors. These advisors can help you choose schools and prepare you for the application process. Many boarding schools also offer special classes to help you prepare for the TOEFL or TOEIC exams, which are often required for international students. Boarding school helps international students get into and succeed in American universities.
International Friendships
Boarding schools offer a unique opportunity for overseas students to meet and make friends with students from other cultures. You will be exposed to people from different religious, geographic, and linguistic backgrounds. You will make friends with people that you would usually not have a chance to meet. Being part of a boarding school community can help you overcome cultural barriers associated with living outside your country.
If you have more specific questions about attending boarding school as an international student (e.g., visa questions), please research and contact boarding schools which interest you. They will have the most up-to-date information you need and would look forward to assisting you!

Tutor NYC are the professionals who help the children to excel in their academic education. If a student is not doing well in his studies then a tutor can be hired for him. The tutor will polish the child by making him more active and smart and also increasing his interest in his studies. A tutor is one such person who helps the child at each and every step in his educational life. It may not always happen that a child has all the good qualities and can always excel in his exams. Well, it is the hard work and his dedication in study that makes him extra ordinary. Infact, every child is not born intelligent and talented but he can be outshined by the help of a tutor who helps the child to do his best during exams.
Every other child cannot become the most talented student among all other students but it is his hard work and good effort that makes him outshine among all other children. Parents are feared about the future of our children and also about their lack of literacy knowledge and numeracy skills and many other. With all these fears in mind, many people have hired the tutors to help their children to over come each and every situation. Home tutors are very valuable, working behind the workforce and concentrating on these educationally challenged individuals and thus helping them to develop basic skills to enable them to be more efficient learning.
Many parents who are working are not able to take out time to watch their child. The children are sometimes found to be indulging in activities not suited to them and thus are found to have a lack of interest in their education. If these activities are not stopped then it becomes quite difficult for the parents to handle their child. Then, there remains no interest in education and later it becomes difficult to handle them. For such children, home tutors are becoming more widely used and hired to take care of the child. The tutors not only provide concentrated learning but also a set time to focus on educational activities of the children. Tutors NYC are really very important for the children as they make them aware of education along with other activities.
Now, the working parents who have very little time to devote to their children can hand over the supervision of their child in the hands of a tutor. The parents can outsource the service of a tutor to look after their child and thus can rely on the tutor that he will take a good care of his child.
